USQRA Atlantic Sectional Tournament
The United States Quad Rugby Association is excited to announce the 2012-2013 post season. A buildup of 5 months of tournaments and invitationals will culminate with the National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.
"This is the 25th anniversary of the association here in the states and we are planning a celebration for athletes and fans", said James Gumbert USQRA commissioner. "With the level of competition growing each year, we are expecting a close race for the Division 1 and 2 titles" he said.
The national championship returns to Louisville KY, while the sectional qualifiers feature first time hosts West Lafayette, IN and Anderson, SC. The awarding of hosts occurred in November 2012 and offers these new communities exposure to the hardest hitting wheelchair sport in the world.
The USQRA is a non-profit organization, for more information go to www.quadrugby.com.
The USQRA Atlantic Quad Rugby Championships will be held March 1-3, 2013 at the Anderson Recreation Center in Anderson, South Carolina. Touch the Future, Inc. and the Carolina Crash, sponsored by Carolinas Rehabilitation’s Adaptive Sports & Adventures Program (ASAP) in Charlotte, NC, have partnered to host the top eight teams from the East Coast for a weekend that is sure to bring the best action ever. Sandy Hanebrink, Tournament Coordinator states, "It is an exciting time for Anderson to be the site of such an exciting event during the 25th Anniversary year of USQRA. The Quad Rugby tournament will bring awareness of wheelchair sports to our community and help us promote and grow our Paralympic Sports Club-SC Golden Corner programs." Come witness the most electric event of the year!
